to be joyful.

to be sacrificial.

to be planned.

to be regular.

Giving is Not:
to be emotionally controlled.
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give…” – 2 Corinthians 9:7
to be legalistic.
“Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give.” – Exodus 25:2
to be a mere token.
“For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.” – 2 Corinthians 8:3-4
buying God’s favor.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…not by works, so that no one can boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
insurance against personal need.
“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances, I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether living in plenty or in want.” – Philippians 4:11-12
