This feeder pig is in need of a home that is willing to fatten it up for market at the Columbus and Living Water Rescue Mission. When you choose to feed the pig, please know that fattening it up will help feed men, women, and children and give them a warm cozy bed to stay in while hearing the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ. If interested, please stop by the Columbus Rescue Mission in Columbus and/or the Living Water Rescue Mission in York to pick out a pig. The address of the Columbus Rescue Mission is 1471-25th Avenue and the phone number is 402-563-1096. The address of the Living Water Rescue Mission in York is 701 S. Budget Cash flow problem!
I Praise the Lord for His faithfulness in providing for His ministry at the Columbus & Living Water Rescue Mission. 2017 was a challenging year in many ways. 2017 started with cash reserves and a plan to cash flow through the year. Because of cash flow we came to a point that I asked the staff to work for reduced wages for eight months with a promise to catch up at the end of the year. God is faithful and we made it through with all wages paid.
We have a 2018 budget that God willing restores some of the cash reserve we used in 2017. The 2018 budget has a cash flow problem however that shows itself in August.
I need your help. We don’t have an operating line to draw on other than those who support this ministry. I need additional gifts prior to August 1st. Perhaps if you give a fall donation you would consider giving the gift in July.
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:3-5
We trust in God using caring people to supply everything for the Mission. Please consider Him as you consider helping us. If you are able to help prior to July 30th would you please contact me?
Hank and Ronnie checked into the Mission at 1pm and told me they were going to go get jobs. They came back at 4pm with jobs and the need for steel toed boots. We bought them boots. Pray that they would surrender their hearts to Jesus.

Healing Heart News From LaVerna
As the daylight hours stretch a little longer each day, it is evidence that spring is approaching, with a promise of new beginnings. We are getting ready to celebrate a new beginning for Brandi, our next disciple to graduate from our Healing Heart Discipleship Program- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthianthians 5:17). Thank you for all your prayers and support which make changed lives and new beginnings like these possible here.
Healing Heart Disciples Brandi, Elizabeth, and Trisha will be sharing their testimonies at the Ladies Brunches in Columbus and York. We are so proud of these ladies and of all the disciples who have graduated from the program.
From the heart of Chaplain Hawk:
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Spring is in the air and with it comes the time for new beginnings. The Lord has brought us this far and I am looking forward to the coming year with great expectation as we follow His instruction on how to proceed through these present times. Psalm 32:8 “ I will instruct you and teach you in the way in which you should go: I will guide you with my eye.” We do a lot of praying here for you, for we are all in this journey together, for none of us can stand on our own. Thank you for standing alongside of us this year. Let our hearts rejoice and proclaim, “Come and see what the Lord has done.” God bless you and yours.
Annual Ladies Brunches
Would you like to be encouraged and blessed? We would love to have you
join us for our Annual Ladies Brunch on Saturday morning April 14, 2018 at
Trinity Lutheran Church, 2200 25th Street, Columbus, NE from 9:30-11:30, or April 21, 2018 at New Heights Assembly of God Church, 1522 S Grant,
York, NE from 9:30-11:30 .
Our theme this year is “Breaking the Chains” and we have a great morning planned with testimonies of the LORD’s work in the lives of 3 graduated Healing Heart Disciples – Brandi, Trisha & Elizabeth.
The Brunch is free and we would like to invite you to come and enjoy the food, fellowship, music, and fun door prizes. Also hear from Chaplain Ted and Staff about what’s happening and where you can help at the Rescue Mission.
And… back by popular demand, is an opportunity to Host a Table!! When you host a table you get to pick
a theme, decorate a round table for 6-8 people and provide place settings. You can invite guests to fill
it up or enjoy the lady guests that come and need seating. It’s a great way to meet a new friend. Ladies have been very creative with many themes such as: Birdhouses, Patriotic, Christmas, St Patrick’s, African, Light Houses, Picnic, Hello Kitty, Daisy, Missionary & Husker- to name a few. It’s always so fun to look over all the creativity in the room.
We sure hope that you and your friends will come and join us. For more information please call the Columbus Rescue Mission at 402-563-1096 in Columbus or the Living Water Rescue Mission 402-362-0127 in York.
Celebrating what the Lord is doing!
Greetings From Tim Kahler, Ministry Associate at the Living Water Rescue Mission
We have been so blessed over the winter witnessing to our guests about the love of Jesus and helping them work toward independent living. However, spring is right around the corner and we are looking forward to warmer temperatures. With the warmer weather, I think of more jobs in the area for our guests, of mowing the grass and being able to work in the shed, and the planning of our golf tournament. Thinking of that event always brings joy to my heart; not only because of the support raised, but also for the friendships developed with our sponsors and players. Would you join me in praying for the sponsors and players that God will provide for us?
“Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then the righteousness One will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your guard.” Isaiah 58:8
Special Invitation to Pray

The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18
Would You Please Consider Volunteering at the Columbus and Living Water Rescue Mission?
“Whosoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give….” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7a
With busy lives it can be hard to find time to volunteer, however the benefits of volunteering can be enormous to you, your family, and the Rescue Missions
in Columbus & York. We are currently in need of evening chapel leaders – ½ hour a month or weekly blesses us greatly. We also have some nights available on our calendar to bring in an evening meal. On occasion we need people to drive guests to an appointment or job interview. We can always use painters and fixer-uppers. Finally, there is a need for translators for our Spanish speaking guests.
If you would like to be blessed and also be a blessing, please call Pam in Columbus 402-563-1096 or LaVerna in York 402-362-0127.
As we are a 501 c 3, we accept no state or federal assistance. Please consider Him as you consider helping us.
