My name is Mark. I grew up in an alcoholic family. I remember saying, “I will not drink, when I grow up.” But, I did. I struggled for several years with alcohol, but it got worse the last five years. I lost a good job, my brother and my mother passed away. I drank more, instead of working through the hurt feelings. I got to the point where I had lost hope and just wanted to give up. My mind was screwed up. God was there because I didn’t want to live like this anymore. I decided to call the Columbus Rescue Mission for help. I am glad I did. The staff has helped and taught me how much God loves me and that I am important in God’s kingdom. And the reason I have hope today is because of what Jesus did for me. He died on the cross for me and you, and by believing in Him, I have eternal life.
