Shawn’s Testimony

In May of 2006, I put my faith in the lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior.  Prior to that I only lived for myself and many of my choices led to devastating consequences in my life. I lost my family and even did some jail time.  Ultimately, while incarcerated, Chaplin Bill Jeffords visited me and gave me the good news that Jesus died for my sins.  That night I accepted Him and trusted Him as my savior.  To the best of my memory, Chaplin Bill walked me down the roman road, reciting:   (Rom. 3:23) – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”    (Rom. 5:8 ) – “but God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”    (Rom. 6:23) – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”    (Rom. (8:1 ) – “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”   Has my relationship with Christ changed me?  YES!  I’m developing a relationship with my church family, I’m spending time in God’s Word, and I’m growing in my faith and love for Jesus.  I also want to serve Him more in any way that I can. One of my favorite verses is (Matt.16:24) – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.” And following Jesus is what I want to do by being baptized.
