My life before I became a Christian was consumed in alcohol mixed with so-called friends who took advantage of each weakness I exposed. I eventually ended up at the door of the Columbus Rescue Mission, which was a good thing. Once there, my whole life changed for the good and that’s only because I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life. Now, I’m at a point where I feel like I have a purpose. Sometimes, I don’t express myself too good, so let’s go to God’s Word where He says through the apostle Paul, “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Phil.1:21). I know that through Christ, I am saved. Our time here on earth is short. Paul, in Romans 8:18, said, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” So whatever I have had happen to me, or I will be going through in the future, our time is short compared to the eternal happiness that awaits us in heaven. To the honor of God, Steve M.
