This program is offered at the Living Water Rescue Mission in York, not at the Columbus Rescue Mission in Columbus.
A Christ centered approach to healing the hearts of hurting women.
Healing Heart Discipleship is not a “treatment program”. It is a non-denominational Christian discipleship designed to heal, renew, and transform the heart. We encourage our women to establish a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We use the Bible, various textbooks and some videotapes/DVD’s, and all are Biblical sound. Healing Heart Disciples are not isolated from the rest of the world while in their recovery. They do have separate living quarters within the Mission. (They have more privileges, as well as more responsibilities than other guests at the Mission). They are part of the Mission team, seeking to extend Christian hospitality and a good witness to all. All Healing Heart Disciples are required to complete lessons and memorize Scripture.
Women in the Healing Heart Program have often been through other, shorter “treatment programs”, but have not met lasting success. Usually, these shorter programs have not been Christ-centered. Women who are struggling with life mastering problems, many times drugs and/or alcohol; although some join just to get some direction in life.
Healing Heart Discipleship is a year long Biblical program. Devotions and classes are designed to give the disciples a fresh “nugget” of truth each day.

Work Policy
All Healing Heart Disciples receive a work therapy assignment for which they receive no pay. Building proper work habits and learning to be part of a team is a very important part of being a disciple. Work assignments will not only allow you to serve, but to begin establishing a good reference and good work ethic. After the Firm Foundation Phase, work outside the Mission is permitted and encouraged. Jobs may be limited in the scheduling and the number of hours per week the disciple may work.
No Fraternization
Association with members of the opposite sex has proven to be the downfall of many participants; therefore, personal contact with members of the opposite sex is prohibited.
